Tom Gustafson
Tom Gustafson has been an associate of Landmark for many years; and at this stage in his career, brings Landmark over 30 years of management experience and a substantial background in business operations with an emphasis in golf course construction and operations, association management and public administration.
Gustafson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Economics from California State University, Fullerton and holds a Master of Public Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from California State University, Long Beach.
During the decade of the 1980s, Gustafson served as the Assistant Executive Director and then the Executive Director of the Sothern California Golf Association, overseeing the staff and all operations of the largest state or regional amateur golf association in the country with over 160,000 members.
From 1991 to 2006, Gustafson served as the Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer of the Southern California Professional Golfers Association (SCPGA.) Gustafson was responsible for administration and management of all activities for the 1,800 PGA members and apprentices who are employed at over 400 private, public and resort golf facilities in Southern California. Gustafson led the acquisition of 500 acres for a 36 hole daily fee golf course and directed the construction and development, including a 34,000 square foot clubhouse, of the PGA of Southern California Golf Club in Beaumont, California, which opened July 1, 2000.
In 2007, after completing a myriad of projects for the SCPGA, Gustafson brought his talents and skills to Landmark, focusing on new business development and providing a full range of golf services to golf course owners and operators. Recognizing that a significant number of golf facilities today need to have improvements and upgrades in order to compete in their golf market, Gustafson responds to continual inquiries about the need to upgrade through prioritization of the best use of resources that will modernize the golf facility in a competitive market and maximize revenue and return on investment.
